Rogues' Memories of Barbados.

Enjoy this fun-filled narrative of an authentic rogue who is an adventurer at heart and an all-around sport with a well-developed sense of fun.  With his parents, Les and Muriel, Rex Wotton ran the West Coast Watersports center at Coral Reef hotel, just up the beach from Settlers Beach. The shop took hotel guest diving and on sailing trips along the coast. He was a master seaman trained by the Royal Merchant Navy in all matters of ship navigation, sailing, diving, explosives, and marine work. Rex was among the most loveable Rogues in Paradise. He had a woderful sense of fun and used it to win over every situation. Sailing to St. Vincent with a friend at age 11 testifies to his spirit of adventure. He encouraged all to share his pranks and daredevil acts, making it seem safe, easy, and a joy.

Once I watched him getting out of the sea at Settlers Beach Villa Beach Hotel, in full diving gear, wetsuit, and tank, Rex looked like a James Bond character on a mission. He had a six-inch dagger secured to his foreleg with rods of dynamite around his waist. His purpose was to plant explosives along the inshore reefs, set to explode when he got out of the sea. It was a government-approved project to clear a swimming area for guests. The explosion shook the buildings just minutes after he was on land. "Oh!" he chuckled, slightly perturbed," Possibly a stick too much dynamite on that one."
