Recently Google changed their algorithms in the way that search results are presented to the


searcher, and they are directing people to local results, even if a town or city is not requested


Google knows where the searcher is by their I.P. address of the computer that they are searching on.

These results show up with a map showing where the business is located and lists the services


that the local company provides, this only works though if you claim your position with Google places.
